WELCOME TO HODAG LITTLE LEAGUE!Little League is open to boys age 4-12 and girls age 4-14 living in Rhinelander. Hodag LL provides an opportunity to learn and excel at baseball or softball, while making friends and learning skills that apply to all areas of life. Hodag LL is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization.

HOW DOES HODAG LITTLE LEAGUE WORK?
There are no tryouts for little league baseball or softball; all children are welcome to play. Registration costs are $70/player or a $100/family maximum and include a jersey and hat. The deadline for registration is 3/27/23. Opening day for Little League will be the week of May 1, 2023.
4-5 Year Old T-Ball:
T-Ball is co-ed play with practices and games held twice a week on weeknights.
6-12 Year Old Baseball:
6-7 year old kids play coach pitch baseball, all other ages play kid pitch baseball. Games consist of 6 innings or 1 hour 30 minutes, whichever is reached first. Practices and games will be held twice a week on weeknights.
Baseball All Star Team:
For 11 & 12 year old All Stars players are nominated by coaches at the end of the Little League season. The All Star coaches will choose a minimum of 9 players based on the list of nominated players by the coaches during the season. For 9 &10 year old All Stars players will be nominated by coaches at the end of the Little League season, but players will be required to tryout due to players playing at both the Major and Minor league levels. The All Star coaches will choose a minimum of 9 players based on the results of the tryout. All Star teams play against other teams in our division for a chance to play at State. Games will be played on week nights and will require travel outside of Rhinelander.
Baseball Travel Team:
This is a more competitive baseball experience which does require tryouts. Children must play Little League baseball to be eligible to try out for the Travel Team. Travel Team tournaments are held on weekends throughout Northern WI.
7-14 Softball:
7-8 year old kids play pitching machine softball, all other ages play kid pitch softball. Games will consist of 5 innings or 1.5 hours, whichever is reached first. Practices are typically on weekday evenings but weekend practices may be required due to field space limitations. Games will be held on weeknight evenings and are sometimes played in neighboring towns (Eagle River, Minocqua, Three Lakes, Tomahawk, etc)
11-12 and 13-14 Year Old Travel Softball:
This is a more competitive softball experience which does require tryouts. Children must play Little League softball to be eligible to try out for the Travel Team. Travel Team will play in 3-4 weekend tournaments which will require travel outside of Rhinelander.
